Promises

by Makola

Breaking promises, especially the ones you made to yourself, are like stepping onto shards of glass with your own bare feet. You bleed and you’re left wondering what made you do it in the first place.
You can try to wipe the blood away, but the gashes take a greater time to disappear. When your eyes stray over the scars which remain, you are reminded of the mistakes that led you to having being marked with them.
Don’t break the promise, don’t step onto the shards. Let it remain whole, complete and something from which no pain can come.
This is possible only when you value it too much to never let it be broken.
